Look no further if you’re looking for a meaningful volunteer experience in one of the most off-the-beaten-path and stunning countries in Central America! Volunteer in Panama, and soak in the sublime natural paradise of lush rainforests, untouched beaches and pristine islands while contributing to society.

Sparkling turquoise-green waters, miles of powdery white sand, clusters of striking coral reefs… if these sound like paradise to you, volunteer in Panama! Experience Panama’s reputation as paradise for beach enthusiasts and eco-tourists alike, while empowering the lives of the local people. Panama is known as the "Crossroads of the Americas" due to its privileged position between North and South America. Panama´s most attractive feature is its diversity. In just less than five days you can do it all: visit the pristine beaches and archipelagos, trek glorious rainforests and mountains, enjoy the vibrant modern city and learn about the indigenous cultures and visit historic ruins. Despite its attractions, the country doesn’t receive hordes of tourists, quite unlike Costa Rica and Ecuador, so rates remain inexpensive. Panama also boasts a large expat community, with over 25,000 US citizens living in the country. One-third of the citizens of Panama live in poverty, and they need your help to empower them. Write us an email today to have an irreplaceable experience volunteering in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.

New Hope Volunteer programs begin each Monday of the month. If needed, we can arrange for your program to start at any day. By doing a quick internet search, you will find that many international volunteer abroad companies are charging as high as $2,500 for just a two-week volunteer program. The unfortunate truth is that most of these companies keep a large portion of your program fees as profit, and very little money ends up at the destination. However, with our low volunteer abroad program fees, not only will you be able to save thousands of dollars, your money will go where it is most needed, that is, for you, to your host families, and your projects. With the exception of our registration fee of $259, which we require for advertising, and to cover daily office expenses and staff salaries, we guarantee that your program fees go directly to the projects and host families.

Here you’ll find the world’s most affordable weekly program fees.

Accommodation/Meal/Supervision

New Hope Volunteers will arrange for the accommodation and meals throughout the volunteering duration in the Panama program. Volunteers will either stay in a hostel (onsite) or with host families. Our host families have all been carefully screened before being selected to participate in New Hope's volunteer programs. Our host families also have significant experience in accommodating international volunteers. Host families offer a warm, comfortable and safe home, where you will receive three local meals per day.

New Hope also offers extensive support for you so that you feel right at home while volunteering. The main person supporting you throughout your program will be our country coordinator in Panama, who is also in-charge of your volunteer program. Whenever possible, the coordinator will call or visit you to see if you are happy and satisfied with your project. You will also have the coordinator's mobile phone number that you may call any time should an issue arise. Our project staff will also guide and help you throughout the program. You will meet the project staff daily during your volunteer work in Panama.
