Are you seeking a meaningful volunteer experience in one of the liveliest and most intoxicating countries in the world? Volunteer in Brazil, and have the opportunity to experience the enchantment of the largest country in Latin America while contributing to society.

Be a volunteer in Brazil, and fall in love with the picturesque landscapes, fascinating people, and the high-spirited culture. New Hope’s projects are based in Rio De Janeiro, better known as “The Marvelous City”. The animated city is famous for its carnivals, samba, the smooth sounds of Bossa Nova, balneario beaches, and its colossal Christ the Redeemer statue. Despite its prestige, Rio still suffers from social crutches which are not always visible to the average tourists. Partake in our programs, and have the eye-opening experience of living life as a true Brazilian by working side-by-side with the local people. No matter your individualistic skills and interests, you’ll be able to find a program that can ensure you’ll be able to make a positive difference. Get in touch with us now to volunteer in Brazil for an experience that is beyond exhilarating and gratifying!

Volunteer abroad Brazil ProgramIn recent years, volunteering has become more of a business than charity. Many organizations in the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand run volunteering programs solely for profit. But this is not the case with New Hope Volunteers. Our aim is to offer World's Most Affordable volunteer program (without compromising the quality) so that all volunteers, irrespective of their income level, can volunteer to serve humanity and enrich their life. In our program, except our registration fee of $279,which we need to advertise, cover office expense and pay salary, volunteers pay their money directly to the host family and project (or country coordinator). This ensures that 100% of your money goes for you.

In addition to our registration fee of $279, here you find the world's most affordable weekly program fee.

Accommodation/Meal/Supervision

Volunteers will either stay in a hostel in the safe and secure neighborhood. The accommodation is located centrally and in a very safe place. From the accommodation, volunteers can easily travel to see many places, including the world famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, and Lapa, which is famous for historical monuments and nightlife. In the hostel, you will need to share your room with other volunteers. Breakfast will be provided every day but for other meals you will need to eat out. Good food is inexpensive in Rio and readily available. There are also internet cafés, restaurants, parks, beaches, local bus stations, and supermarkets near the locations. The living arrangements will provide you with a great perspective about living in Rio.

New Hope's Volunteer in Brazil Project offers excellent field support to volunteers to ensure a safe and rewarding experience. There are many layers of support for you. The most important support comes from our country coordinator/field staff. The secondary support comes from the host project staff (knowing some Portuguese will help you to interact better). Volunteers will have access to our country coordinator's mobile number and are available 24/7. Throughout the volunteer project, our local staff stays in contact with volunteers either with face-to-face visits or via email/telephone. Our field staff will also visit regularly to make sure things are going well and as planned. However, if the placement is far from our local offices, staff members will stay in touch via email/phone. It's important for volunteers to be flexible with their projects, but also know that the country coordinator will be there to guide them along.

Specific details regarding accommodations, food and contact details for our local coordinator will be provided in personalized volunteer placement documentation prior to arrival.
