Disabled children project (Cordoba)

Volunteer in Disabled Children Project in Cordoba, Argentina

Work with children that need enthusiastic and committed volunteers to help them lead productive and self-sufficient lives. The center currently is looking after the children but lack adequate resources. It is understaffed and needs volunteers to help take better care of the children. Our volunteers will ensure children with disabilities who are denied access to vital educational and communal services are helped the way they deserve to be.

What difference is this project making?

The project aims to promote a change in attitude towards people with disabilities by creating awareness and promoting an active citizenship. Through education, training, and teaching, the project strives to offer disabled people valid tools for active development. The project is also trying to enable disabled children to receive the care and education they require to lead full and constructive lives. Volunteers will play an active role in the education and care of these children.

Highlights of the program

During the program, volunteers will help watch the physical and mental health of the disabled, informing staff if anything irregular happens. Other work includes assisting the rehabilitation activities and the staff; working for institutional development, fundraising, administration, event management research, communications, and program development.

Volunteers must be at least 18 and they must have health insurance as well as accident and liability insurance. They must also respect the rules and regulations of the center, be resourceful, and must not hesitate to become involved in different activities. A basic knowledge of Spanish is preferred, but volunteers can also join our Spanish classes that will help make the program more effective. The community program is an initiative of local municipality and works with deprived communities.
