Community development Project (Cordoba)

Volunteer in Community Development project in Cordoba, Argentina

For the disadvantaged communities, there are a number of initiatives underway in different regions of Argentina to uplift them. The municipality they live in has many programs that are trying to tackle the deprivation. Many of their programs are trying to provide attention and support to vulnerable families, especially their children as many children suffer from neglect, malnutrition, and have access to limited facilities. The program aims to educate the families and provide better healthcare. Volunteers in the program will learn Spanish, participating fully in the program, and in their free time visit attractions in and around the wonderful city of Cordoba.

What difference is this project making?

The project works with deprived communities to educate the children. Volunteers will also assist in gardening, fundraising, and other administrative work and contribute their labor in the kitchen, library, and neighborhood center. Will all of this work, the communities will expect the services to improve and their children to be well-educated. This will bring them hope and they will also feel motivated to work towards a better future.

Highlights of the program

Volunteers will work from Monday-Friday for about 4-5 hours a day. They must be interested in working in a rural community to volunteer in the project. Volunteers must also be proactive and self-motivated. If they do not have a good knowledge of Spanish, they can join our Spanish classes which will help to make their program more effective. The community program is an initiative of local municipality and works with deprived communities. The energy and drive of the volunteers will help the municipality achieve its aim very quickly, providing the communities with a better future.

Project location

With 1.4 million visitors, Cordoba is Argentina's second city. The city is nestled in a valley and is surrounded by high mountains. The city averages about 24 degrees Celsius in the summer and 11 degrees Celsius in the winter. Cordoba is known for its streets, promenades, and buildings that are a mixture of colonial and modern architecture. There are also plenty of parks, restaurants, and museums to visit.
