Orphaned children of Uganda generally end up living in the orphanages as there is no government help for them and very little option except to live on the streets, either begging or indulging in petty crime to sustain yourself. Due to death from diseases like HIV/AIDS, thousands of children become orphans in Uganda every year. The orphanages are full and struggle to house, feed, clothe and educate the children. But these orphanages are the last hope of the orphaned children and by volunteering in the orphanage, you’ll make sure the children are well taken good care. You’ll teach them, care of them, provide them with love and make them confident and capable of seeing that they have a bright future.
What difference does this project make?
Volunteers help is greatly appreciated and required as the orphanages are the only place where orphaned children can turn to for protection. Through the project, the orphanages are able to stay afloat and educate, house, feed and clothe the children. The small sum the orphanage receives for hosting the volunteers will go a long way towards making them financially viable. Also, the work the volunteers will do, in teaching, caring, loving the children and cleaning the place will also ensure that orphanages runs smoothly and also ensure the children will start to believe in themselves.
