Tanzania - Orphanage project
I was a bit dissorganised in arranging the time i would arrive in tanzania to get picked up however once my bus got in i called Deo, the country coordinator and he was there within 20 minutes to collect me. Once arriving at the orphanage he left me with the lovely Collins and Pamela who run the place. As I was there over the christmas holidays the kids were home all day and i spent most of my time playing with them and helping with chores. The place was well run despite the lack of resources and Deo checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable. There were about 30 kids aged 2 - 20 who were an absolute pleasure to spend time with. Originally i was to stay four weeks but ended up there for only three as i didn't quite comprehend the exhaustion of living at the orphanage full time. Overall i had a great time largely due to the incredible children.
A big thank you to new hope, especially Srijana who always got back to me with the many emails i sent while organizing my trip.
