Volunteer Evaluation SHEET

Dear Ranjana,

So far my volunteering in Cambodia has been fantastic. This is my 6th week and I have gotten into this new life style. New Hope has been very helpful with everything. After staying one month with a host family I decided that I wanted to move to the volunteer guesthouse. The family was really sweet and it was a great experience but they lived very far south in Phnom Penh so it was a bit inconvenient, also this way I can meet more of the other volunteers. House of Family is a lovely place. I teach English two times a day and also I help out with cooking and administration. It is a challenge but I enjoy it very much.

Thanks for all your help, I will try to post some pictures when I find a wire for my camera!

Volunteer Evaluation SHEET

Hello Ranjana'

Yes my posting is Cambodia is going well and I am happy with my placement.

The staff at CHED have involved me in the daily activities of the programme and as well I am teaching English lessons each day, so we are all learning from each other. As student of International Development I have been able to experience first hand, the processes that are required to bring about development in a poor country and so I feel I have gained a lot.

The New Hope team have been excellent and I feel very professional in the way they conduct their programme, their support and follow up in making sure that everything is okay with my placement has been great and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to find a placement in Cambodia.

Thank you.
Kathy Lewis

Dear Volunteer,

Please kindly evaluate the volunteer program of New Hope Volunteers and assist us to further improve our services and program.

How do you assess the services of New Hope?

I think New Hope Volunteers did a good job. The coordination and organization in Cambodia was really good.

Please evaluate the support, meal and accommodation we received during the program

The support during the stay in Cambodia was really good. The local coordinator Star Kampuchea did a really good job and the orientation we got in the first 2 days was helpful and we got to know a lot about Cambodia and Phnom Penh. I stayed in a host family, which was really nice. I had a room for my own and another volunteer lived in the family as well which was nice, because we had the opportunity to do things together and go out in the evening, ect. The meals were quiet good. Not that much difference, it was more or less the same every day, but it was definitely okay.

Please review/evaluate your overall experience with New Hope

All the experiences with New Hope Volunteer were good. Every time when I raised a question via e-mail it was answered very soon. And the 2 weeks in Cambodia were awesome and so good organized! If I ever volunteer again I would definitely do it again with New Hope Volunteers. Especially it is probably the cheapest way to volunteer abroad. I had a look at many different organizations and did not find anything cheaper. And although New Hope Volunteers are the cheapest program, the quality is really, really good.
