Minimum stay 5 weeks
Many Non Governmental Organizations in Cambodia organize community development projects in the areas of education, women’s development, peace/justice and children development. These projects work in improving the social structure as well as the economic condition of local people. New Hope Volunteers works in collaboration with such organizations to help uplift rural communities in Cambodia.
What difference does this project make?
New Hope Volunteers works hand in hand with NGO’s in Cambodia to support their community development efforts. By providing manpower, we hope to aid the projects that are underway in local communities. We also make sure the projects uplift conditions of local people in Cambodia.
Highlights of the program
The placements for this project are customized based on volunteer’s experience and interests. For instance, a law student could help a community apply for their land rights; an English writer with skills in development can offer assistance in writing reports and proposals for fundraisers; an engineer can help create a plan for infrastructure development/improvement. Volunteers can thus, work in their own area of expertise and interest. Another highlight of this program being:  in your free time, you can tour Cambodia.
Project location
Phnom Penh is the capital city of Cambodia that is chaotic but somehow it still manages to be charismatic! It is a crossroads of Asia’s past and present, a city of extremes in poverty and chaos, but one that never fails to captivate. It is also known as the ‘Pearl of Asia’.
